ADCU General Secretary Cristina Ioanitescu attended the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva in her capacity as an Executive Board Member of the International Alliance of App-Based Transport Workers.
The conference brought together delegates from the 187 member states of the International Labour Organization to discuss a wide range of global labour issues, including the future of decent work in the platform economy.
During the conference, Cristina Ioanitescu met with trade union representatives, workers' organisations and policymakers from around the world to share the experiences of app drivers and couriers in the UK. Discussions focused on the challenges faced by platform workers, including fair pay, employment rights, algorithmic management and the need for stronger legal protections.
ADCU's participation reflected the union's ongoing commitment to ensuring that the voices of app drivers and couriers are represented both nationally and internationally. By contributing to discussions at the International Labour Conference, ADCU continues to support collective efforts to improve working conditions and strengthen employment rights for platform workers across the globe.
