ADCU at the Tolpuddle Martyrs' Festival 2026

ADCU joined trade unionists from across the movement at the Tolpuddle Martyrs' Festival, standing in solidarity with workers fighting for fair pay, better working conditions, and collective rights.

The festival commemorates the Tolpuddle Martyrs, a group of Dorset agricultural workers who were transported to Australia in the 1800s after forming a trade union to defend their wages and working conditions.

More than 200 years later, ADCU continues to campaign for the rights of app drivers and couriers. As work becomes increasingly shaped by digital platforms and algorithmic management, the need for workers to organise collectively and have a voice at work remains as important as ever.
